Ashley Higginbotham
Ashley Higginbotham rejoined Attorneys at LawSmith as an associate in 2011 but has worked on and off with Gary W. Smith and Attorneys at LawSmith since 2000. Mrs. Higginbotham is a Georgia native. Mrs. Higginbotham received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Georgia in 1998 and then received her Juris Doctrate from Emory Law School in 2001.
Throughout her legal career, Mrs. Higginbotham has represented clients in various complex civil litigation matters, including but not limited to, personal injury, medical malpractice, bankruptcy litigation, securities fraud, commercial collection, real estate disputes, business and contract disputes. Additionally, Mrs. Higginbotham has represented debtors, creditors and bankruptcy trustees in chapter 7, 13 and 11 bankruptcy and collection matters. Mrs. Higginbotham has been very successful in obtaining large settlements and/or judgments for her clients. As an example, Mrs. Higginbotham represented a Chapter 7 U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee involving a multi-state fraud/ponzi scheme transaction which resulted in the collection of close to $4 million for the bankruptcy estate. Overall, Mrs. Higginbotham has approximately a 95%+ success rate in her client representation.
Mrs. Higginbotham’s desire is to use her vast litigation experience to help individuals in need. With that in mind, Mrs. Higginbotham now devotes her legal practice to representing plaintiffs in personal injury matters, including automobile, motorcycle and trucking collisions; wrongful death matters; premises liability cases; slip and fall matters; medical malpractice and worker’s compensation cases.
Mrs. Higginbotham is a member of the Georgia Bar, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, and Christian Legal Society. Mrs. Higginbotham is an active member of Cross Pointe Church in Duluth, Georgia and various other Christian ministries.
